Welcome to the NHG-AHPL Family Medicine Residency Program. The NHG-AHPL Family Medicine Residency Program takes place at 7 Family Medicine Centers within National Healthcare Group Polyclinics (NHGP). Residents run full day continuity clinics at the Family Medicine Centers under the tutelage of family physician supervisors once a week throughout their period of training.
The NHG-AHPL Family Medicine Program provides a broad based training program with compulsory rotations to 12 specialist departments. Residents have a choice of 3 short elective postings to further broaden their scope of experience within the 3 year program. Our residents enjoy clinical training and practice under supervision provided by dedicated specialist faculty in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and National University Hospital.NHGP manages 9 polyclinics located in the central, northern and western parts of Singapore. As a primary care institution with a vision of “Advancing Family Medicine and Transforming Primary Healthcare”, NHGP provides high value training well-grounded in the values of family medicine to equip family physicians with the skills and knowledge to provide comprehensive inter-generational care to patients and their families. The core faculty of the program consists of excellent clinical tutors who have been recognised for their teaching efforts. One of our key faculty members Dr Zheng Mingli was awarded the NHG Teaching Award for Junior Clinicians in 2012 and another member Dr Ong Chin Fung was awarded the NHG Outstanding Educational Partners award in 2013.
