Adj. Asst Prof Ganesan Naidu Rajamoney Naidu

Dr. Ganesan Naidu graduated from the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Medicine in 1990. He was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1999 and completed his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2007 when he obtained his Fellowship in Orthopaedics and Traumatology from the Royal College. He was awarded a fellowship to further his interest in Orthopaedic Trauma at the Unfallklinik, Mainz, Germany in December 2007.

He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor to the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and a regular Lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, Nanyang Polytechnic. He is also an Instructor for the Advanced Trauma Life Support Course in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Dr Ganesan has extensive experience in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery. His subspeciality interests are pelvic and acetabular fractures, limb reconstruction and fractures around joints.

Dr Lee Keng Thiam graduated from The National University of Singapore in 1997. He completed his Advanced Specialist Training in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2006, and was registered as an Orthopaedic Surgeon with the Singapore Medical Council in May 2006. He underwent HMDP Fellowship Training in Sports Surgery and Upper Limb Surgery at the Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre and Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, Australia in 2006/7.

His main areas of interests include the arthroscopic treatment of upper and lower limbs sports injuries, as well as the management of all other shoulder and elbow conditions including fractures and arthritis.

He is currently a Faculty Member with the Primary Care Academy of National Healthcare Group, and conducts regular courses in minor Orthopaedic procedures for the General Practitioners. He is also actively involved in the teaching of medical students from The National University of Singapore as a Clinical Tutor.

Computer aided hip and knee replacement surgery, revision hip and knee replacement surgery, trauma, and arthroscopic knee surgery.

Dr Teo completed his Medical Degree from National University of Ireland in 1998 with multiple distinctions and awards. He returned to Singapore and started his post- graduate training in Orthopaedics. Apart from Tan Tock Seng Hospital, he was also trained in the National University Hospital (NUH), and in Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

Dr Teo was awarded the Higher Manpower Development Program (HMDP) scholarship by the Ministry of Health, and went on to complete a clinical fellowship in Joint Replacement Surgery in Melbourne, Australia. The emphasis of his training included revision hip and knee replacement surgery, as well as the use of Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS) for hip and knee replacement. CAOS enabled minimally invasive surgery (MIS) to be more reliably performed, and alignment more accurately reproduced for implant longevity and better clinical outcome.

Besides being a Clinician, Dr Teo is also an appointed undergraduate Clinical Tutor for the National University of Singapore. In 2003, he was awarded the prestigious NUH Young Doctor Award for his research in stem cell therapy. He presented in regional and international meetings and published in peer-reviewed regional and international journals.

Having grown up in Singapore, Dr Teo is fluent in both English & Mandarin, and conversant in Hokkein, Teochew, Cantonese, and Malay. Patients may seek consultation with Dr Teo either via appointment in our Specialist Outpatient Clinic, or via doctor referrals.

Teo Yee Hong

Dr Ernest Kwek Beng Kee

Dr Ernest Kwek graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1997, and completed his advanced specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2008, obtaining his fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Dr Kwek’s areas of interest include orthopaedic trauma, with special interest in pelvic and peri-articular fractures. He also has interest in post-traumatic limb reconstruction and management of bone defects. He is trained in the Ilizarov technique, and has completed a fellowship in limb lengthening and reconstruction in Italy under Professor Maurizio Catagni.

Dr Kwek is an AO Alumni member, and is actively involved in organizing AO Courses locally and regionally. He has published research papers in international journals and is also a clinical tutor with the undergraduate medical training programme.

Dr Winston Chew Yoon Chong

Dr Winston Chew Yoon Chong graduated from NUS with his basic medical degree (MBBS). After he obtained his higher surgical qualifications [(MMed (Surg), FRCS(Ed), FRCS(Glas)], he entered orthopaedic surgical training and successfully exited to become a specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery [FAMS (ortho)]. He has been with TTSH since 1996.

He has a special interest in Hand and Microsurgery, and was awarded the Ministry of Health’s HMDP (please check full meaning) scholarship to undergo additional training in Hand and Microsurgery in the prestigious Christine M Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsugery / Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Upon his return, he successfully exited in Hand Surgery, to be the only surgeon to date to exit in both orthopaedic and hand surgery.

His clinical interests include managing fractures of the distal radius and hand, problems of the wrist, reconstruction for rheumatoid and degenerative arthritis, and microsurgical reconstruction of both upper and lower limbs, especially for trauma. His passion is in good patient care.

Dr Chew is also interested in teaching, and is the adjunct clinical senior lecturer of the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of NUS. He is also actively involved in the training of orthopaedic and hand surgeons. He served as President of the Singapore Society for Hand Surgery from 2004-2006. He is currently senior consultant and Head of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and the Chief of the Hand Surgery Service in TTSH.

Winston Chew Yoon Chong

Dr Gamaliel Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1995. He completed his orthopaedic specialty training in 2005. He subsequently did his fellowship in spine surgery at the Toronto Western Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada.

His areas of interest are in neck and back disorders, degenerative spine conditions and spinal deformity surgery. He has written papers in scientific journals and also presented at local and international meetings.

He also takes an active role in undergraduate medical education, being appointed an adjunct assistant professor to the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore.
